Forrest Riesco
Spank Industries is proud to present Forrest Riesco!
Forrest started the 2012 season as a junior and Spank Disciples Grassroots Team member. Over the season he showed an incredible level of talent and potential to take his riding to the next level, as well as remarkable poise when it came to race day, no matter when or where. Forrest appeared on junior podiums all year, whether BC Cup or Canada Cup. However it was his top five rankings overall in several of the nation's toughest races, including Panorama and Bear Mountain that helped him to make his mark on the scene, earn a 2nd in Junior and 3rd in Elite in the overall Canada Cup standings, and a spot on the Canadian National Team for the World Champs!
In his first appearance at the world champs, and first trip to race in Europe, Forrest recorded Canada's fastest junior time, and 25th overall. Not bad for first trip to the international stage!
Forrest was born in 1994, started riding bikes at the age of four, raced XC as a youth and cracked his Dh race cherry at the ripe age of twelve. There's been no looking back, and Riesco has made a name for himself as relentless when it comes to training. When we asked him about specifics, he had this to say: " I always like challenging myself whether its strength training, intervals, timed laps, or just battling it out with my friends on a cross country ride. I ride my motocross bike for speed training, dirt jump to work on my fine skills, and XC for keeping my endurance up." We've heard that Forrest also enjoys soccer and skiing as cross training methods.
When asked who influenced his life and carreer on the bike the most, it was a split between Forrest's number one supporter, his Dad, who has encouraged him since he was old enough to throw a leg over a bike...and...Sam Hill, whose fast and loose approach to riding can be seen in Forrest's style today.
Look forward to seeing Forrest in years to come on the World Cup and Canada Cup. The future is bright for this one!
